SOCIETY FOR NEUROSCIENCE KELANTAN CHAPTER (SfNKC) 8TH AGM 2018

The 8th Annual General Meeting of the SfN (Kelantan Chapter) was held on December 19, 2018 at the Auditorium Nuclear, Universiti Sains Malaysia. Prior to the commencement of the meeting, two Neuroscience talks were given by Dr Mohamed Faiz Mohamed Mustafar and Dr Azim Patar respectively. Dr Mohamed Faiz Mohamed Mustafar presented his talk on "The Importance of Nonhuman Primate Model in Understanding the Brain", whereas Dr. Azim Patar gave an informative overview on "The Use of Neurotrophin-3 and Short Hairpin RNA NG2 lentiviruses to Promote Axonal Sprouting in Transection Spinal Cord Injury Ex-Vivo". Questions from the audience and interactive discussion on the topics followed after the talk presentations. Chairperson Prof. Dato' Dr Jafri Malin Abdullah later proceeded with the AGM and gave a welcome speech as well as an overview of the agenda. The minutes of the 7th AGM was presented and approved. Following each report, questions and suggestions were taken from the floor, and attending members contributed with suggestions and ideas for activities to be held in the coming year. These ideas include organizing various workshops such as the eye-tracker workshop, animal behavior workshop, and functional neuroanatomy workshop. Appointments of new committee members for 2018-2019 ensued soon after. The meeting ended with a photo session of the new team of executive committee.
