Chapter Information

The Kelantan Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience (SfNKC) is a local affiliate of the National Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience officiated since 2010. The SfNKC is composed of academic and scientists who are passion in the field of brain sciences. This includes clinicians, researchers, teachers, students and public community. Our membership includes regular membership, student membership and associate membership.

The Kelantan Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience is dedicated to:

​

- lead, support and enhance the understanding of the brain and nervous system through scientific activities and health awareness especially in the state of Kelantan;

​

- offering educational resources and opportunities for teachers, students and the public at large through community outreach;

​

- provide exposure and promote health awareness among the public about the brain and nervous system;

​

- provide exposure and awareness among the public about the needs and developments of scientific research and clinical studies involving the nervous system and brain; and

​

- strengthening networks among various sectors including clinical specialists and neuroscientists in Kelantan.

​​

Every year, the Chapter sponsors an "Brain Awareness Week" designed to bring scientists, teachers, students and the public together to learn about and discuss the latest advances in Neuroscience research and education.

​

We also sponsor the annual Malaysian Brain Bee which gives area high schools students an opportunity to learn and demonstrate their knowledge about brain science. Contact the Chapter Secretary for more information.
